The machine ran on a crankshaft drive whose maintenance of wear-sensitive parts can be quite expensive.

As a solution, Integron Aandrijftechniek's service engineers have built a hydraulic generator to power this machine. This generator was delivered to Trivium Packaging Leeuwarden on Friday, October 21.

The generator, visible in the photo, is equipped with a hydraulic set high pressure unit (HPU) with a double-acting cylinder. This hydraulic cylinder includes a distance measurement system or contactless piston rod feedback. The advantage of this is that the position of the cylinder and piston is known, so that they can be positioned properly. With this distance measurement system, the position of the cylinder in the controller is used to achieve a very fast stroke with accurate movement. By using hydraulic servo technology, it is possible to make the cylinder move in and out in less than two seconds.

In short, through a strong piece of customization, Integron Aandrijftechniek has ensured that an old machine can move forward for a number of years. As a result, Trivium Packaging Leeuwarden will save considerably in maintenance costs in the coming years.
