Suppose you are a manufacturer of huge industrial doors that require heavy springs. Forklifts drive back and forth to remove those springs from the warehouse for assembly. Things can also be done differently: “Have a hoisting robot prepare a whole bunch of those springs neatly side by side in cassettes at night and bring those tapes to the production line one by one during the day,” says business developer Paul Schut of Wadcon. It is a possible application of Liftit VLR, the Groningen company's vertical lifting robot. Most robots are industrial robots that perform their tasks somewhere fixed in the production line. “Our system involves a material handling robot that transports something over long distances and then positions it with precision. This can be from the warehouse to the production hall, or between machines. For example, it concerns machine tending, the customized supply of materials for the machines so that they can run automatically and manlessly 24/7. '

Wadcon has been known in the market for thirty years as a supplier of automated production systems, including production, assembly and testing machines. “In addition to the general machinery where we always start designing from scratch for a customer, so to speak, we want to focus more on our own, standardized products for material handling and assembly. That is why Wadcon is developing three of its own product lines: the vertical lifting robot Liftit VR, handling robot IPR, and the data-driven and self-programming transfer system Movit and Toolit focused on various tooling for material handling and positioning with industrial robots and cobots. Schut: “It's all intended for the most optimal, automated horizontal and vertical movement of products. The advantage of a handling robot is that it can transport something well and quickly and then place it very precisely, with interactive controls. We offer a universal platform. '

The vertical lifting robot has a long range and high stability and is easy to program. The customer can put together a customized configuration. The basic version consists of an upper rail that allows movements in length and width of up to tens of meters. The system can carry loads of up to 1,000 kg, depending on the specific composition.
